Courses / CFA

"Given the limited study time and the wealth of teaching material available, attending the CFA courses run by CfBS has made a real difference for me by making my studies extremely efficient. The CFA four-month courses have helped me pass all levels at first attempt. Moreover, when I entered the exam room, I always felt well prepared and confident."

Learning Approach for Live Four-Month Courses with On-line Review

CfBS applies a three step learning approach. In part 1 of the course the knowledge required to pass the exam, based on the Learning Outcome Statements (LOS) of CFA Institute, is explained and applied to practical examples. Part 2 focuses on reviewing critical exam topics using a question-based format. A trial exam forms part 3 of the course. It will be held under similar conditions as the actual CFA exam, helping candidates to develop and test their individual exam strategy.

On-line review: The CFA classes will be recorded, allowing course participants to make up for any missed classes and to revisit on-line most of the topics explained in class. In addition, students benefit from ongoing e-mail and phone support outside the classroom.

Reasons for Attending a Live Four-Month Course

  • A comparison of old and more recent exam questions indicates that the exam is becoming increasingly difficult. This trend is reflected in declining pass rates.
  • 400 to 500 Learning Outcome Statements (LOS) cannot be covered in a crash course.
  • The four-month courses offer comprehensive and detailed coverage of the exam material and help candidates to adopt a disciplined and focused learning approach.
  • Attending a four-month preparation course can avoid panic learning in the last month prior to the exam.
  • Classes have a maximum of 25 students making it possible to answer individual questions in the classroom.

Learning Approach for Live Five-Day Intensive Review Courses with On-line Review

In the five-day intensive review course the critical and most difficult exam topics will be explained and practiced with exam-type questions. The course runs on Thursday through Saturday and on the subsequent Monday and Tuesday. The break on Sunday allows candidates to digest better the large amount of material covered. To support the self-study phase leading up to the five-day course, CfBS recommends its on-line course for an efficient and effective preparation.

The on-line sessions offer comprehensive and detailed coverage of the exam material and help candidates to strengthen their understanding of difficult topics.
